Playground in honour of Southport victims

A PLAYGROUND built in memory of two girls killed in the Southport attack was unveiled as classmates returned to their school yesterday.

Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, and Bebe King, six, attended the Merseyside town's Churchtown Primary School.

Now their names are inscribed in heart-shaped plaques to remind pupils of the happy memories they shared.

An inscription on a shelter reads “In memory of Alice and Bebe, forever in our hearts” and a plaque says “Rooted in kindness, growing through hope”.

In July last year, Alice and Bebe were stabbed alongside Elsie Dot Stan-combe, seven, by Axel Rudakubana, 18.
