Ranmith steers Nalanda to victory

An unbeaten 92 in 95 balls inclusive of ten fours and two sixes by Ranmith Senarath helped Nalanda College record a comfortable five wicket win over Maris Stella College in the Under 19 inter-school limited overs tournament encounter played at Kadirana.

Maris Stella taking first lease of the wicket made a score of 173 with Kavith de Silva making a top score of 115 which proved to be in vain as Ranmith’s knock helped Maris Stella to race to the target in the 35th over.

St Thomas’ College Matara pulled off a close two wicket win over St Sylvester's College in a low scoring match played at Boyagane while Sri Jayawardenapura MV Kotte, Harishchandra NS Negombo, St Mary's College Kegalle, Madampa Central Kuleegoda, CWW Kannangarav MMV Matugama and Debarawewa Central came out victorious in the other matches that were played.

At Kadirana - Nalanda win

Maris Stella 173 in 40.4 overs (Kavith de Silva 115, Ameesha Fernando 17: Osanda Pamuditha 2/22, Haritha Amarasinghe 2/26, Gayuka Madushan 2/331, Dunitha Anusara 2/51)

Nalanda 174 for 5 in 34.2 overs (Nadul Jayalath 20, Nemindu Akmeemana 19, Ranmith Senarath 92 n.o.: Shihaan Askar 2/34, Gawra Tissera 2/57)
