PROBATION OFFICER ARRESTED FOR RAPE

A probation officer was arrested yesterday by Ampara Division Women and Children's Bureau on suspicion of rape of two underage girls in a Home for the Children in Dehiattakandiya in Ampara.
A police team under OIC Women and Children's Bureau CI Dayani Gamage had carried out the raid. She said the suspect had raped one of the girls and sexually abused the other.
