Govt. to appoint Women's Commission to address issues faced by women

The government is taking steps to appoint a Women’s Commission to address the challenges and ies faced by women, the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs said.
Deputy Minister Namal Sudarshana said that a seven-member panel has already been appointed to serve on the commission.
These appointments have been made under the powers granted by the Women’s Empowerment Act No. 34 of 2024.
