Key statistics on victims and perpetrators in South Africa and overseas

This data has been collated by organisations such as Wings for Truth, which focuses on protecting children from sexual abuse, and Bridges & Balm, which supports survivors in the Two by Twos church, through surveys, investigations and a study.

A total number of 107 persons have been directly affected by the alleged abuse in the Two by Twos and they are associated with 43 alleged perpetrators. Ninety-four victims are reported to be alive. Six have died since they suffered the alleged abuse.

Five of the victims were identified as having "worker" status and 102 had "friend" or ordinary member status.

Victims by perpetrator type and status:

Victims were categorised based on whether the perpetrator was a "worker" or "friend" at the time of the assault. This showed that 64 people were victims of "workers".

Of the 64, 36 were victims of "workers" who are still alive and 28 were victims of "workers" who have since died.
