Sri Lanka and China reaffirm commitment to deepening strategic cooperation

FOREIGN Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath on Saturday met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meetings in Kuala Lumpur.

The discussions reaffirmed the longstanding friendship and strategic cooperative partnership between Sri Lanka and China.
During the meeting, Minister Herath reiterated Sri Lanka's deep appreciation for China's unwavering support to Sri Lanka in times of need, particularly its assistance in safeguarding Sri Lanka's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and its timely cooperation during recent economic challenges.
