Results in all five matches despite overcast and rainy conditions

UNDER overcast conditions and rain, low-scoring was the order of the day in the SLC Major Club Women’s Limited Over Tournament, where a winning result was reached in all five matches played yesterday.
The two forces teams, Navy SC and Air Force SC, along with Chilaw Marians CC, continued their domination of the tournament, recording their third win in as many matches.
Navy SC, led by national cricketer Hansima Karunaratne, beat Ace Capital CC by eight wickets (DLS method) in a game reduced to 22 overs a side at Salawa Army Grounds at Kosgama. Ace Capital CC were restricted to a score of 78-6, of which Captain Hashini Indrajith contributed 34 off 61 balls. Navy SC knocked the required runs in 10 overs losing two wickets, with Hasini Perera crashing 30 off 18 balls (7) fours).
