NCPC – A LEADING BODY IN GREENHOUSE GAS VERIFICATION
September 18, 2025
|Daily FT
Climate change, driven mainly by human-induced greenhouse gas emissions, is a major threat to global warming, with serious impacts on human health and nature.
-
Therefore, international, regional and national governments are taking measures to limit rising concentration of GHGs in the atmosphere. To achieve this, it is essential to first understand current GHG emissions through proper quantification. It depends on the quantification, monitoring, reporting and verification of GHG emissions and/or removals at the organizational level based on ISO 14064-1:2018 requirements. Once quantified, emissions can then be effectively reduced through targeted mitigation activities.
Effective climate action requires accurate quantification, monitoring, reporting, and verification of GHG emissions and removals at the organizational level in line with ISO 14064-1:2018, enabling targeted mitigation measures. GHG verification ensures accurate, consistent, and transparent reporting, building stakeholder trust, preventing greenwashing, and supporting international agreements like the Paris Agreement.
