LOLC Holdings and Brown & Company Chairman Ishara Nanayakkara with global electric vehicle (EV) brands SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) and Beijing Auto Works (BAW) to introduce three affordable models to the Sri Lankan market.

The company said the EVs represent a "carefully curated range of premium-quality and price-conscious vehicles, making sustainable automobile ownership available to all our fellow citizens."

Vehicle affordability has long been a challenge in Sri Lanka, where import restrictions and high prices have placed new vehicles beyond the reach of most consumers. Browns EV said its entry is aimed at addressing this gap at a time when many households are still struggling to own a car.
