Bangladesh more competitive against Sri Lanka in white-ball format

■Commence three-match ODI series tomorrow
BANGLADESH has just lost another Test series to Sri Lanka - their 12th out of the 13 played between the two countries since 2002.
The only series they came close to beating Sri Lanka was in 2017 when they drew the two-Test series one-all. The solitary win came in their 100th Test match played at the P Sara Oval by 4 wickets. Otherwise, Bangladesh has lost 21 of the 28 Tests played against Sri Lanka and drawn 6.
If at all Bangladesh has been competitive with Sri Lanka it has been in the white ball format where they have at times held the edge and won. They have won more matches against Sri Lanka in the ODI format than any of the other two - 12 as against 6 in the T20I format.
