KATE'S 'RENEWED SENSE OF HOPE' AFTER COMPLETING CHEMOTHERAPY
THE Princess of Wales has spoken of her relief after completing chemotherapy and said she felt "humbled" by the outpouring of support during her battle with cancer.
In an emotional video message, Kate said the treatment had been "incredibly tough" and cautioned the road to recovery was long so she "must continue to take each day as it comes".
In the film, which she narrates, the positive princess, 42, told how her family had "drawn great strength" from "all those helping us" with "kindness, empathy and compassion" as the family faced dark times.
She said: "I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.
"The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.
"The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you."With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything." In March, the mother of three stunned the world by going public with her cancer diagnosis, made after she had abdominal surgery at the London Clinic on January 16.
Pre-cancerous cells were found following the procedure and she revealed she would undergo a course of chemotherapy.
The short family video was shot last month at their home in Norfolk and featured her husband William, the Prince of Wales, and their children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.
It gives a candid, intimate glimpse into life behind closed doors and shows the family enjoying time together in woods and on the beach, playing cards and having a picnic.
