WW1 hero finally laid to rest
May 15, 2025
|Daily Express
A BRITISH soldier killed in the First World War has been laid to rest in a full military funeral 108 years later.
Pte John Tame was 26 when he died at Langemarck in August 1917.
His remains and a cap badge were unearthed in roadworks near Ypres, Belgium, in 2018 and, following painstaking identification work, they have been buried at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s New Irish Farm Cemetery nearby.
