Woman's Hour row over Thatcher snub

THE BBC was at the centre of an impartiality row after its Woman's Hour radio show failed to acknowledge the 50th anniversary of Margaret Thatcher becoming the Conservative Party's leader.

In contrast, Right-leaning TV channel GB News gave the occasion extensive coverage and reflected on the Iron Lady's key moments.

Mrs Thatcher, who replaced Ted Heath on February 11, 1975, won three general elections and became the nation's longest-serving prime minister in modern history. She died in 2013, aged 87. Her legacy, including the 1984-5 miners' strike and the divisive poll tax protests, earned her both admiration and criticism.
