SIR KEIR Starmer has been urged to backtrack on Labour's inheritance tax raid on farmers after his winter fuel payment climbdown.
Shadow Environment Secretary Victoria Atkins warned of the “human cost” of the policy which means farms worth over £1million will be hit with tax bills and said: “Labour must now U-turn on farmer inheritance tax raid after winter fuel reversal.”
Her intervention comes after the Prime Minister confirmed last week there would be a reversal on stripping most pensioners of their winter fuel allowance.
Ms Atkins told the Daily Express: “One of Labour's first acts upon getting into power was to take money away from vulnerable pensioners. They have finally done the right thing and backtracked.
