Traffic wardens facing abuse over parking at school

TRAFFIC wardens are facing so much abuse from parents they are only allowed to visit schools in pairs or accompanied by the police.

A row has broken out over poor parking outside a school in West Malling, Kent with concerns for the children's safety.

New yellow lines and zig-zag parking controls have been painted outside The Discovery School, but parents claim these are being ignored, with photos showing cars parked on them.

But Tonbridge and Malling council claims it is difficult to crack down on the issue in light of "previous violence" towards traffic wardens at the gates.
