Teenage girls' angst is a living nightmare

A WORRYING report at the weekend revealed how anxious and depressed so many teenage girls have become: are we at all surprised? We have created a world that is a living nightmare for these poor things, no longer children, but not yet women. Here are a few things we could do to start to put this right.
Ban all smartphones for everyone under 16. When my nephews were younger, my sister told me her greatest worry was not them being exposed to pornography (although that made her pretty anxious) but the vile beheading videos.
Smartphones also allow access to sites that encourage eating disorders, suicide and are a platform for 24/7 bullying. Why are we letting the vulnerable endure this stuff?
