SVEN-GORAN Eriksson died millions of pounds in debt after falling victim to a financial adviser's scam.
Details of the former England manager's estate were published yesterday following his death from pancreatic cancer last August aged 76.
The Swedish documents show that he owed £8.6million. Eriksson's assets amounted to £4.8m but the estate has a deficit of £3.7m.
Dubious
According to the inventory, the largest debt is tax owed to the UK's HMRC, which totals £7.2m. The details have been filed with the Swedish Tax Agency.
Eriksson earned huge sums during his 55-year career but was reported to have lost £10m in a high-profile alleged fraud.
