Soul legend Roberta dies aged 88

THE Grammy-winning American soul singer Roberta Flack died yesterday at the age of 88.
In a decades-long career, she had No1 hits with The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and Killing Me Softly With His Song in the 1970s.
In 2022 it was announced Roberta had ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease, a neurological condition that had made it impossible for her to sing.
Her publicist Elaine Schock said: “The glorious Roberta Flack passed away this morning. She died peacefully surrounded by her family.
