"BUY a defender!!!!". That was Jamie Carragher's blunt message on X after seeing Liverpool fail to keep another clean sheet at Nottingham Forest.

Arne Slot's side have managed just three shut-outs in the past 11 games in all competitions, after recording 11 in their first 20.

Former Reds defender Carragher said: "The defensive solidity they had at the start of the season has gone. They always look likely to concede."

Although Liverpool produced a barnstorming finale at Forest on Tuesday and had enough chances to win, they have beaten just League Two Accrington in their past four games this season and they have given Arsenal hope in the title race when previously there was none.

Liverpool have conceded 14 goals in their past 11 games, compared to just 12 in their first 20.
