THERE is a trick that tells you when Marcus Rashford is confident, enjoying his football and revelling in his ability to cause chaos in opposition defences.

He dawdles slightly on the ball, inviting an opponent to rush in and dispossess him.

And then, in a blur of fast feet, he either flicks the ball past or through his adversary and is gone.

Often it is a nutmeg. In his pomp, Rashford was the king of the nutmeg. If you believe a stat from one of the more obscure stat-keepers, he is the all-time Premier League nutmegger.
