Police instructor used bolt cutters to remove female trainees' earrings

A POLICE instructor made three trainees place their heads on a table while he used bolt cutters to remove their earrings, a disciplinary hearing was told.
PC Martin Briggs' "astonishing" treatment of the women ahead of a fitness test left one of them bleeding from her ear, it was claimed.
The officer was overseeing a bleep test a drill which involves running back and forth in a straight line - when he insisted all jewellery be removed by the 63 recruits.
