Ofcom in legal battle over 'bias' at the BBC

OFCOM is facing a legal challenge for allegedly failing to investigate "glaring bias" in the BBC's Brexit coverage.

News-watch, a media monitoring organisation, is being allowed to seek a judicial review in the High Court over what it says is a decision not to look into pro-EU bias in the BBC's programmes.

Broadcast regulator Ofcom has reportedly rejected the complaints as they were not about a single programme or editorially linked series.

But News-watch says that leaves no scope for complaints "based on recurring themes and tendencies in a broadcaster's output".
