British man, 30, found dead after swimming in Colombia
A BRITISH tourist has reportedly drowned in Colombia after visiting to get married.
The 30-year-old was said to have been found on Sunday at around 7am on the beach at El Laguito, a popular tourist destination in Cartagena.
Local reports named the Brit as James Michael Winkles, a car salesman from Ryde on the Isle of Wight.
Sea conditions when he went into the water were described as rough.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, despite efforts by emergency responders to revive him. An investigation is ongoing, although the death was described as "accidental".
His body has been taken to a city forensic medicine institute for a postmortem.
