Muzzling of fearless Graham Linehan by police is sickening

JUST when you thought free speech in Britain couldn't get any more dire, writer and comedian Graham Linehan has been arrested by the police over a couple of tweets once again making the UK a laughing stock among self-respecting nations.

Muzzling of fearless Graham Linehan by police is sickening

The sequence of events, as described by Linehan himself, is almost comical in its absurdity.

You might wonder why five armed police officers turn up to arrest an Irish comedian who created beloved shows like The IT Crowd and Father Ted? Were they that awful?

Well, as well as being exceptionally talented, Linehan is also a gender-critical activist who had the misfortune of getting on the wrong side of some peculiar people online.

In a twist of irony, he announced late last year that he was leaving Britain for the US because "freedom of speech here" was in "bad shape".

America now seems to have become a haven for British asylum seekers in need of true liberty of expression. And as if to prove him right, he was seized earlier this week when he landed back in the UK after flying in from Arizona.

Even leftie columnist Owen Jones, a man who debated me on live television about how women can have testicles, thinks it was a step too far.

That is where we are.

Help our hospitals recover by boosting health care at home

A RECENT analysis of NHS data shows that patients staying in hospital longer than medically necessary are costing the health service more than £200million a month. These are people who are fit to be discharged but can’t leave because the right care simply isn’t available in the community. The result? Beds taken by people who don’t need to be there, while patients wait in corridors or ambulances for treatment.
