MARCUS SMITH is firing on all cylinders as he attempts to derail Ireland's bid for a second successive Grand Slam at Twickenham on Saturday.

The England fly-half has trained this week but one of the other No. 10s in the squad, Fin Smith, is set to be ruled out with a calf injury.

Northampton's Fin Smith, 21, a replacement against Italy and Scotland, was the only squad member not fully involved in yesterday's session in Bagshot.

Marcus Smith, 25, has not featured in this year's Six Nations after he injured his calf at a pre-tournament camp in Girona.

But with his namesake likely to be sidelined, he is odds-on to feature in the 23 against Ireland, and could start ahead of George Ford to partner the returning Alex Mitchell at half-back.
