Kyiv civilians beg for end to attacks

CIVILIANS in Kyiv traumatised by a vicious Russian drone attack early yesterday fear the worst is yet to come.

At least 11 people, including two children, were injured as huge fires broke out following strikes on a high-rise block and shopping centre in a northern suburb of the city.

Olga Chairkiska, 72, awoke to deafening explosions and from the balcony of her eighth-floor flat, saw a ball of flames in the street below.

She said: "I was watching my two disabled children sleeping, wondering what to do, thinking if the ceiling collapsed, I wanted to die immediately rather than feel any pain."
