King told of 'traumatic' migrant rescue by RNLI

RNLI heroes yesterday told the King how they saved the lives of five migrants trying to cross the Channel.

Charles heard all about the “traumatic” rescue during a royal visit to a south coast seaside resort.

It came as Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer was with French President Emmanuel Macron, hammering out plans to tackle the small boats crisis.

The King was at Walmer lifeboat station, in Kent, when he met Andrew Holland, Victoria Ward, Dan Sinclair and James Foster - all holders of the RNLI’s Thanks of the Institution award for their bravery and dedication to saving lives at sea.
