Kemi's pledge to honour historic vote for Brexit

We think of those brilliant backbenchers who sounded the alarm about the transformation of a trading group into a superstate.

These men and women were mocked by the political and cultural elite, but ordinary people watched in horror as our sovereignty was ceded to Brussels.

When the referendum arrived, courageous Conservatives broke with the party hierarchy and campaigned for Brexit. And in the wake of the vote to leave, committed Tories stopped the establishment steering us back into the bloc.
