Brook doubles down after humbling Headingley loss

ENGLAND captain Harry Brook is refusing to press the panic button with the ODI series against South Africa on the line at Lord’s today.

The humbling at Headingley on Tuesday, which saw the tourists romp home with 175 balls to spare, has backed the home team and their inexperienced white-ball skipper into a corner.

Brook’s response, after England were bowled out for 131 in their seven-wicket defeat, is to urge his side to double down on their attacking approach — and just do it better.

The 26-yearold said: “We are a good enough side to just go out there and play the way we have.

“The more positive you are and aggressive you are as a batter, sometimes you get away with more stuff.
