IT'S STORM IN A TEACUP

PAUL SCHOLES is ready to meet Lisandro Martinez after the Manchester United defender told the Old Trafford legend to come round to his house and criticise him to his face.

WHEN Paul Scholes was previewing the Manchester derby with his old mate Nicky Butt, he raised the prospect of Lisandro Martinez having to deal with Erling Haaland.

And Scholes simply puffed out his cheeks in mock exasperation, implying the contest would be a one-sided affair - and not in the Manchester United man’s favour.

Butt joined in the fun, saying: “Haaland would pick Martinez up and run with him. You know when you see a dad at school running down the road with a little toddler?

Scholes laughed: “Hed score, then throw him in the net”

Alas, it did not quite work out that way. And after Martinez - with the help of central defensive partner Harry Maguire - had dominated Haaland to such an extent the Manchester City striker was substituted by Pep Guardiola, the Argentinian made his feelings clear on the criticism that so often comes from ex-United players.
