It's a funny old wargame

IN CASE we need reminding what the actual point is of CELEBRITY SAS: WHO DARES WINS, ex-Special Forces guy Rudy Reyes, one of its no-nonsense instructors, spells it out for us once more in tonight's episode (C4, 9pm).
-
"We're looking for people who are prepared to go to war for this country," he declares.
With that in mind, the series got off to an encouraging start last night, with a lineup sure to fill the nation with confidence. Let's face it, Putin or whoever would be mad to take us on, knowing he'd be up against the likes of dancer Louie Spence, drag artist Bimini Bon-Boulash and Hannah out of S Club 7.
But then things became a bit less reassuring. Hannah, exhausted, threw in the towel. Soon after, Louie did likewise. He'd decided the SAS wasn't "my cup of tea".
Thank heavens Bimini is hanging on in there.

I won an Oscar but lost my waistline...
JAMIE Lee Curtis is a morning person. “It’s my nature,” she says cheerfully when we meet by Zoom. It’s a respectable 10am in Los Angeles but Jamie has already been up for hours. “I was out late last night at an event honouring women in film, so I got very little sleep,” she admits. “But I was up and awake at about 3.30am or 4am this morning. I wake up this way every day - optimistic and energetic.”
