ID cards opposition soars from 19% to 45%

SUPPORT for digital ID cards has collapsed since the national rollout was announced, with pollsters calling this evidence of Sir Keir Starmer’s “reverse Midas touch”.

In June, More In Common found that 53% of Britons were in favour of the system and 19% were opposed.

However, since the Prime Minister announced plans to proceed with the scheme last week 45% now say they are opposed and 31% in favour.

Opposition is firm too, with 32% of respondents saying they are strongly against the project.
