MORE than 80 firefighters have tackled a devastating heath blaze, with the inferno so severe it resembled a volcanic eruption.
Crews battled for seven hours to contain the raging fire at Upton Heath nature reserve, Poole, Dorset.
near The massive blaze took hold at 11.45pm on Wednesday night and swept over an area of 350 yards by 550 yards, creating an orange wall of flame that looked like flowing lava.
It was finally contained at 7am yesterday. There were no reports of casualties. But the horrifying sight left residents shocked.
Soon after, 40 firefighters rushed to nearby Canford Heath to contend with another blaze
