A STROKE survivor is calling for more funding and research into the bowel disease which gave her the devastating condition.

Phoebe O’Shaughnessy had to learn to walk and talk again aged just 21, after having what she thought was a severe headache.

After being unable to speak, tests revealed she suffered a rare form of stroke where a clot forms on the brain’s venous sinuses.

Phoebe, who spent 21 days in hospital, learned it had been caused by her autoimmune condition, ulcerative colitis.
