Harry to appeal as High Court throws out security claim

PRINCE Harry has lost his High Court challenge over UK security.

He wanted to overturn a ruling downgrading his protection after he stepped down as a senior royal and moved to the US, but his case was rejected by judge Sir Peter Lane.

The Home Office Ravec committee, which arranges Royal security, decided in 2020 that Harry would no longer have the automatic level of security given to senior royals.

Instead it would be based on risk, as with other visiting dignitaries.

Harry's lawyers told a December hearing a failure to carry out a risk analysis and fully consider the impact of a "successful attack" on him made the approach "unlawful and unfair". Harry believes his kids cannot "feel at home" in the UK if it is "not possible to keep them safe".
