Harry and Meghan get ready to flee as LA wildfires' trail of devastation spreads

The catastrophic blazes have already left a trail of devastation, claiming the homes of stars including Sir Anthony Hopkins, 87, Dick Van Dyke, 99, Billy Crystal, 76, John Goodman, 72, and socialite Paris Hilton, 43.

The fires were still some distance from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's home last night but sources say the couple are ready to go into "crisis mode" if required.

Their security team has been coordinating an evacuation plan and packing essentials for children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.

A neighbour said: "It's not chaos here yet but the fire is moving fast and we are not taking any chances."

The couple's home is in a "high-risk fire area" and officials are closely monitoring as the out-of-control inferno to the east continues spreading towards Montecito.

Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, and their neighbours have been supplied with customer resiliency kits that include a pre-charged solar-charger, flashlight/LED lightbulb, personal protective equipment, ice, water, snacks and safety pamphlets.

The couple took to their website Sussex.com yesterday to offer their support to those affected by the fires.

The couple wrote: "If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate, and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do. Be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbours to see if they need help evacuating.

"Please consider donating clothing, children's toys, clothing and other essentials."
