PARTYGATE inquisitor Sue Gray broke Whitehall rules by holding secret talks about a job with Sir Keir Starmer, a government probe has revealed
Ministers blasted the "undeclared contact" between the former top mandarin and the Labour leader after the Cabinet Office inquiry found she had breached the civil service code.
Ms Gray first spoke to Sir Keir about becoming his chief of staff in October, four months before she quit her Whitehall role.
She is due to start as his right-hand woman in the autumn after she was cleared to do so by the appointments watchdog last week.
