SHAY GIVEN says Eddie Howe's judgement in the transfer market is now shining through.

Alexander Isak’s £125million sale to Liverpool rocked fans at St James’ Park as the Swede went on strike before forcing through his move to Liverpool.

But former Republic of Ireland keeper Given believes his old club are enjoying the better end of the deal.

The jury was out on Tyneside as Newcastle spent £69m on Nick Woltemade, £50m on Yoane Wissa, £55m on Anthony Elanga and £35m on Malick Thiaw.
