Fury at 'Stockwell Strangler' serial killer's day release

A NOTORIOUS serial killer who strangled and sexually abused seven pensioners in their homes has been granted day release.

Kenneth Erskine, now 59, was jailed for 40 years in 1988 after his four-month killing spree in south London two years earlier.

Dubbed the Stockwell Strangler, he broke into the homes of three women and four men killing and sometimes sexually abusing his victims before stealing from them.

Erskine, known to police as a homeless burglar, was suspected of another four murders.
