Fury at compensation 'scandal'

THE sons of an Army veteran whose pension credit entitlement was cut due to her compensation for injuries in service are demanding a new law to end such injustice.
Pauline Cole worked as an Army telephonist and served on the front line in the Aden emergency in 1967, but suffered ailments in later life due to her service, and died in November.
Unlike civil compensation, her payout was classed as income - meaning her pension credit entitlement was slashed to just £11.
