Freed lag killed ex guard who foiled his jail fling

A VENGEFUL drug dealer who shot dead a prison officer who exposed his sexual relationship with a woman jail guard has been locked up for at least 45 years.

Elias Morgan, 35, wanted retribution after dad-of-three Lenny Scott, 33, found a phone that revealed the affair at HMP Altcourse, Merseyside, Preston Crown Court heard.

When Mr Scott refused a £1,500 bribe and reported the mobile, Morgan, of Edge Hill, Liverpool, said: “I'll bide my time” and made a gun gesture.

Four years later, after Morgan was freed and Mr Scott, from Prescot, Merseyside, had left the Prison Service, the threat was carried out.

The ex-officer was shot six times as he left a gym in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, on February 8 last year. Morgan fled on an electric scooter.
