False snake of Elgol is a Skye rock star

WHAT looks like a few specks in a rock is a newly discovered Jurassic ancestor to lizards and snakes which has been found on the Isle of Skye.
The previously unknown species, which lived around 167 million years ago, was given the Gaelic name Breugnathair elgolensis - "false snake of Elgol" - referencing the area of southern Skye where it was discovered.
