Ex-Millwall football star 'left toddler with brain damage'
August 23, 2024
|Daily Express
A FORMER Millwall footballer faces a lengthy prison sentence after inflicting injuries on a two-year-old child that were "equivalent to a high-speed crash".
Kiernan Hughes-Mason, 32, left the toddler with life-changing brain damage and requiring 24-hour care, a court heard.
After he was found guilty of child cruelty and grievous bodily harm he was sacked as Enfield Borough Football Club's manager.
Previously he played youth football for Tottenham and Arsenal before signing up to South East London-based Millwall.
His trial heard he dialled 999 on January 31, 2020, while he was supposed to be looking after the youngster.
