Emma pipped by Sabalenka in thriller

EMMA RADUCANU suffered an agonising defeat by world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in an epic third-round duel at the Cincinnati Open.

In a rematch of their thrilling Wimbledon encounter in July at the same stage, Sabalenka was again victorious.

Raducanu came close to an impressive victory, before going out to the title holder 7-6 4-6 7-6.

The pair shared a warm embrace at the net after a battle lasting 3hrs 9mins.
