Injury and marathon loss raise SW19 seeding fears
EMMA RADUCANU lost her longest match of the season to Bianca Andreescu at the Miami Open, leaving the British No.1 running out of time to get seeded for Wimbledon.
And the former US Open champion will now return to the UK to consult specialists about her “annoying and frustrating” wrist injury.
The Canadian won the entertaining battle of the teenage US Open champions 6-3 3-6 6-2 in the Hard Rock Stadium, triumphing in two hours and 33 minutes.
Andreescu, who won in New York aged 19 in 2019, backed Raducanu to make a swift return to the world’s top 10.
