February 13, 2026
|Daily Express
A SENIOR detective is claiming £100,000 in compensation after she was bitten by a trainee police dog, leaving her scared of the animals.
Detective Chief Inspector Lynn Wilczek suffered facial scarring when the Belgian Malinois named Frank “lunged” at her when she tried to stroke him.
The animal was at home with her husband, a police dog handler, at the time.
Once a dog lover, the detective has been afflicted by a “specific phobia” of canines as well as anxiety disorder since the 2022 attack.
Dangerous
DCI Wilczek, who is in her 40s, has now launched a £100,000 compensation claim against Kent Police’s Chief Constable, Tim Smith, on the basis Frank was potentially dangerous unless kept under control.
