DARTS HELPING BID TO REACH THE PLAY-OFFS

FRANK LAMPARD’S players have been taking their minds off a climactic end to their campaign with dressing-room cricket and darts.

Coventry need a win from today’s sell-out fixture against rivals Middlesbrough to cement their place in the play-offs.

The former England midfielder revealed a low-key build-up in which he tried to take his team’s minds off the job in hand.

Manager Lampard said: “This group generally take care of themselves. They’re very good in that respect. I don’t get invited to their darts competition and I don’t get invited to the cricket.

“They play it in the dressing room in a small area.

“I hear them playing it. It’s good numbers. It’s like the darts — which they’ve played all season.
