Dando brother hopes killer will finally be pricked by conscience

THE brother of murdered television star Jill Dando hopes a new true crime documentary will finally "prick the conscience" of her killer and end the 24-year mystery.

Crimewatch presenter Jill, then 37, was shot dead outside her home in Fulham, West London, on April 26, 1999.

Her murder led to one of the biggest manhunts in the history of the Met Police before Barry George, who had a history of stalking, was convicted in 2001.

However, he was acquitted at a retrial in 2008 which ruled evidence used in his first trial could not be taken into consideration.

Conspiracy theories have continued to surround Jill's death, including that she was the victim of a contract killing related to her work on Crimewatch.
