Convert's 'shopping centre terror plan'

A MUSLIM convert accused of planning a terrorist attack had made a “joke” about entering a synagogue in a suicide vest, a court has heard.

A note found on 21-year-old Jordan Richardson when he was arrested read: “Throw all grenades into crowd; shoot bystanders; stab anyone who comes close; do not get taken alive.”

Another had instructions on making mustard gas, prosecutor Katherine Robinson said.

A crossbow and a knife was also found at Richardson's home in Howden, East Yorks, Leeds Crown Court heard yesterday.

Ms Robinson said Richardson accessed material online which “shows his interest in and affiliation with extreme Islamist ideology, that includes material depicting and glorifying terrorist actions”.
