Clapton's privacy fears over neighbours' plans

ERIC Clapton is at odds with his neighbours over proposals to rebuild their home next to the “sanctuary” where he wrote some of his songs.

The guitar legend, 80, has lodged an objection against plans to demolish and rebuild the £2.3million property in the Surrey village of Ewhurst.

The renovation proposals include a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, boot room, snug, his-and-hers study, and a master bedroom.

It will also feature a terrace and basement with three additional en suite bedrooms in the property neighbouring the former Cream guitarist's Hurtwood Edge estate.
